Argentine Minister calls labor reform part of economic transition

Buenos Aires, December 11 (NA) – The Minister of Production and Labor of Cambiemos, Dante Sica, affirmed this Thursday that the labor reform promoted by the Government is framed within a 'transition process' of the economy and will contribute to 'improving competitiveness', which is fundamental for Argentina's production.

According to Sica, the labor modernization will have a 'great impact on sectors such as construction and services', which are 'responsible for 60% of the employment generated in Argentina', he said in an interview with Radio Rivadavia.

In this way, the economist referred to the labor reform project that, as confirmed by the Argentine News Agency (NA), was sent this Thursday by the Executive Power to the National Congress for its treatment in extraordinary sessions.

'A much more dynamic model will be implemented, which will allow companies to start framing new hires in a system much more suited to the more flexible needs that the production process has today,' he assured.

Furthermore, he stated that the labor reform will not affect the acquired rights of workers, because 'we do not legislate backwards but forwards', and those who already have a formal job will not see their situation affected.
